Rachel Townend

Rachel Townend assumed the role of Chief of Staff at Illuminate Financial Management in 2021, overseeing Illuminate’s strategic objectives in relation to People, Process and Operations. After 15 years in the financial sector in London, Rachel brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her leadership role.

Rachel embarked on her journey with Illuminate from inception in February 2014, as an Executive Assistant to the Founder. Prior to this position, Rachel spent five years at Satya Capital LLP, a boutique private equity firm exclusively focused on investments in Africa.

Before joining Satya Capital, Rachel worked at Marshall Wace Asset Management. In this capacity, she worked closely with a Manager-led investment fund responsible for a small group of analysts, supporting the Investor Relations team.

Rachel graduated from Nottingham University with a BA in Geography and Business and in the past has worked for various early-stage businesses in the Leisure, Media & Hospitality sectors alongside acting as a Client Liaison Manager at Invesco Perpetual.
